e2v’s ProWave® Vermiculite Processing System wins a British Engineering Excellence Award.
Against tough competition from five shortlisted companies, e2v’s ProWave system came out top in the beea award for Green Product of the Year. According to the judges the ProWave vermiculite system stood out from other contenders, and they announced e2v’s ProWave the winner on the day.
The ProWave vermiculite processing system is the result of a partnership between e2v and the National Centre for Industrial Microwave Processing (NCIMP) at the University of Nottingham. ProWave systems completely change the way bulk materials are processed in terms of energy efficiency, cost and flexibility, for example in mining, petro-chemical, chemical, textiles and food sectors
The awards aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of engineering design within the UK and, in particular, emphasise innovation and effectiveness. They act as an incentive to the design engineering industry to create world-class businesses and provide a benchmark of excellence from which the industry can learn and build. Finally, they demonstrate the power of engineering design innovation within the UK to the world.

ProWave product manager, Anthony Fernandez accepted the award at the ceremony which was held in London on Thursday 13th October.
