e2v microwave technology centre opens in Lincoln

Mr. Tony Worth, the Lord-Lieutenant of Lincoln officially opened e2v’s microwave technology centre on Wednesday 2nd March. Over 60 guests attended, including the Mayor, Sheriff, Council members, customers and suppliers from around the world.

The Lincoln facility in Sadler Road employs approximately 60 people, the majority of whom are specialist engineers and scientists. They are responsible for designing and developing technology solutions, components and sub-systems based on microwave frequency technologies.

e2v has had a presence in Lincoln for 46 years, designing, developing and manufacturing microwave frequency based high technology products for the world’s largest system companies. The opening of the technology centre in Lincoln enables e2v to maintain their highly skilled engineering knowledge in the region and undertake projects that will involve a close relationship with academia.

Duncan Johns, Business Director commented, “There has been a huge amount of work by a lot of people from e2v, supported by the local council, our suppliers and customers, to make this centre a reality. This new facility will be a true world centre for microwave technology and secures our presence in Lincoln for many years to come”.
