e2v aerospace and defense achieves key certifications in its health, safety, and environmental programs

e2v aerospace and defense (e2v a&d) today announced that its Santa Clara operation has achieved two key certifications; ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certification and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification. These certifications complement the e2v a&d integrated management system already in place which has been certified to AS9100B, ISO9001:2008, and MIL-PRF-38535.

ISO 14001:2004 provides the requirements for an Environmental Management System and by complying with this standard, e2v a&d will:

• 1) identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products and services
• 2) continuously improve its environmental performance
• 3) implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, including being able to demonstrate that these objectives have been achieved.
   

This standard provides a holistic, strategic approach to the environmental policy, plans and actions for e2v a&d.

OHSAS 18001:2007 provides a guideline for an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System applicable to any organization. By obtaining certification to this standard, e2v a&d commits to an OH&S management system that minimizes risks to employees and visitors and assures that e2v a&d can demonstrate to others the conformance to its OH&S policy. In addition, e2v a&d will implement, maintain, and continually improve its OH&S management system.
